The WordPress admin toolbar is one of the most visible, and in my experience, least…
Some presumptuous plugins out there inject themselves at the top of the WordPress admin menu, right below the dashboard and before anything else. Jetpack, for instance, is a big offender. This can get a bit irritating and is most likely not the experience you want. Menu Humility puts these plugins in their place.
What’s It Do?
Menu Humility takes any menus that place themselves at the top of the admin menu and shuffles them back down to the bottom. There are no settings for the plugin, it just starts working for any existing or future plugins on your site.
How’s It Work?
After you install and activate the plugin, you will see that any menus that were previously at the top of your WordPress admin menu have been moved to the bottom. It does this with a simple filter that it adds very late in the plugin init process, which automatically unsets plugins that prioritize their status and moves them.
There’s nothing to set up or configure, just turn the plugin on to activate its functionality. But, if plugin menus at the top of your settings are something that frequently bothers you, Menu Humility is a nice quick fix.
Costs, Caveats, Etc.
Menu Humility uses a single function to get the job done and can be relied on for future versions of WordPress. If you notice that the plugin doesn’t work for a certain plugin, let the developer know in the support forums.
